Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest eight Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft Island on 29th November 2015.

Two Japanese naval ships, "Akizuki" and "Sawagiri", arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and replenishment visit on 27th November 2015.

The international maritime conference, “Galle Dialogue 2015”, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence, concluded on 24th November 2015 pledging support for greater maritime cooperation for secure seas.

The foreign delegates attending the Galle Dialogue - 2015 called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne to express their thanks for the SLN initiative which has attracted many maritime experts and naval strategists from around the world for exchange of views and discussions which are of great importance for the security and safety of the Indian Ocean.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, calling on the Secretary of Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi at the Lighthouse Hotel in Galle, conveyed his gratitude for the guidance and assistance extended to the successful conduct of the Galle Dialogue 2015 international maritime conference.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, calling on the Prime Minister, Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe at the Lighthouse Hotel in Galle, conveyed his deep appreciation for his gracious presence at the Galle Dialogue 2015 international maritime conference and delivering its keynote address which set the stage for the deliberations, adding depth to the content and enhancing the stature of the conference.

The International Maritime Conference, “Galle Dialogue 2015”, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence, got underway in the port city of Galle today, 23rd November 2015.
