As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, the North Western Naval Command launched a tree planting project in parallel with the national tree planting programme - 2014, on 15th November 2014 at the Rapid Action Boat Squadron Headquarters (RABS HQ) in Gangewadiya, an area considered rich in biodiversity.

Two Korean Naval ships, Choi Young & Cheonji, arrived at the Port of Colombo on goodwill visit on 11th November 2014 and were ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.
