The National Sea & Air Farers Sunday Service was successfully held at the St. Peter’s Church in Fort, Colombo on 14th July 2024. The event was attended by the President of the Navy Christian Council, Rear Admiral Damian Fernando and a group of naval personnel.

The Chief of Defence Forces, Seychelles Brigadier Michael Rosette who is currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka, called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (15th July 2024).

The visiting Chief of the Defence Forces, Seychelles was welcomed by Naval Officer in Charge (Welisara), Commodore Prasad Jayasinghe.

Relinquishing duties to which he was committed for nearly 35 years, Rear Admiral Saman Perera retired from naval service today (13th July 2024).

Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe assumed duties as Commander Western Naval Area at the Western Naval Command Headquarters today (12th July 2024).

TCG Kinaliada of the Turkish Naval Forces, which arrived in Sri Lanka on 09th July 2024, departed the island today (12th July), on successful completion of her formal visit. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Colombo port, following naval traditions.

As part of another Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiative, a blood donation campaign was held at the Northwestern Naval Command Hospital today (12th July 2024).

As a result of the efforts of State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon and the direct intervention of the Minister of Health Hon. Ramesh Pathirana, the Ministry of Health has granted approval to provide priority service to the dependents of the War Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country and the disabled soldiers when obtaining health services from government hospitals and clinics.

The newly appointed High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka, H.E. Masood Imad met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (10th July 2024).
