Locally fabricated Combat All-Terrain Vehicles handed over to Commander of the Navy

The Chairman of Ideal Motors, Mr Naleen Welgama handed over 03 locally fabricated Combat All-Terrain Vehicles to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters on 22nd February 2023. The Ideal Motors has fabricated these special vehicles to suit the operational needs of the Sri Lanka Navy.

11th edition of Sri Lanka Navy Journal launched

A copy of the 11th edition of the Sri Lanka Navy Journal published by the Naval Research Wing was presented to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera by the Head of Naval Research Wing, Captain Aruna Wijayawardana at the Navy Headquarters today (22nd February 2023).

Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata (331) departs island concluding official visit

The Indonesian Naval Ship ‘KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata (331)’ departed the island this morning (21st February 2023) on successful completion of the official visit. The ship arrived at the Port of Colombo on 19th February 2023.

Commanding Officer ‘KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata - 331’ meets with Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy

A delegation headed by the Commanding Officer of the Indonesian Naval Ship ‘KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata - 331’ Captain Nopriadi, M. Tr. Hanla met with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy and Director General Operations Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake at the Navy Headquarters today (20th February 2023). The Indonesian Naval Ship arrived in Sri Lanka on an official visit on 19th February.

SLNS Samudura arrives the island after taking part in ‘AMAN’ - 2023

Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Samudura which took part in the multinational naval exercise ‘AMAN’ arrived the island on successful completion of the exercise today (20th February 2023). Upon her arrival, the Navy welcomed the ship in compliance with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo. The Pakistan Navy hosted ‘AMAN’ – 2023 for the eighth (08th) time and the theme of the exercise this time around was ‘Together for Peace and Security’.

A mangrove nursery declared open in North Central Naval Command

The Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma today (20th February 2023) declared open a mangrove nursery established in the Command, as part of the Mangrove Conservation Project of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata -331 arrived at the Port of Colombo on an official visit this morning (19th February 2023). The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions.

SLNS Sindurala adjudged the Best Ship in 2022

The Sri Lanka Navy annually organizes the Best Ship competition to determine the best fleet units in its possession. Thus, SLNS Sindurala, SLNS Mihikatha and P 414 were named as the ace performers in the competition. Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 13th February 2022 presented the plaques to the winners on board SLNS Sayurala, in recognition of their capabilities and overall performance.

Navy flaunts strength and readiness with successful conclusion of CONEX - 2023

The Colombo Naval Exercise (CONEX) 2023 organised by the Sri Lanka Navy for the fifth (05th) time was held at the Colombo Harbour premises and off the western coast from 06th to 12th February 2023. The final exercise of CONEX 2023 was reviewed by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, on board SLNS Vijayabahu.
