Navy seizes massive haul of narcotics weighing over 654kg and arms, arresting 10 suspects off south coast
As a key stakeholder in the national mission 'A Nation United,' the Navy has been conducting maritime operations in the waters surrounding the island, in support of the objectives of this national mission. Under this initiative, during yet another successful operation on the high seas south of Sri Lanka, the Navy intercepted 02 local multi-day fishing trawlers and 10 suspects. One trawler, along with 05 individuals, was suspected of attempting to smuggle a consignment of narcotics and weapons. The second trawler and the remaining 05 suspects are believed to be linked to the same illicit operation.

These efforts are carried out through a collaborative approach involving local and foreign maritime stakeholders as well as law enforcement agencies.
