Navy nabs 02 suspects with Kerala cannabis worth over Rs. 105 million of street value
Commander of the Navy inspects consignment of narcotics brought to Colombo after anti-drug operation in international waters
In a successful operation carried out in international waters south of Sri Lanka, the Navy managed to seize a haul of heroin with 07 foreign nationals on 05th May 2022. The apprehended suspects along with the stock of illegal drugs were brought to the port of Colombo this morning (09th May) by SLNS Sayurala. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne was also present at the Colombo harbour to inspect the apprehended consignment of narcotics.

Navy seizes about 325kg of narcotics worth over Rs. 6200 million in southern waters
A special operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, State Intelligence Service (SIS) and Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) in seas off Dodanduwa, Galle on the evening of 12th April 2022, led to the seizure of a local multi-day fishing vessel smuggling about 300kg of substance suspected to be heroin and about 25kg of drugs suspected to be crystal methamphetamine (ICE). The coordinated operation also made way to the apprehension of 11 suspects along with a dinghy, a cab and a three-wheeler in connection to the incident.
