Navy nabs 09 persons for illegal harvesting of sea cucumber in Mannar

The Navy apprehended 09 persons for illegal harvesting of sea cucumber during a special operation conducted off Achchankulam, Mannar in the wee hours of today (05th January 2023). The operation also led to the seizure of diving gear, 01 dinghy and 168 illegally harvested sea cucumbers.

Navy recovers commercial explosive cache from Udayapuram Beach

A search operation conducted by the Navy in Udayapuram Beach area in Jaffna led to the recovery of an explosive cache this morning (22nd December 2022). Among the recovered items were 22 Water Gel Sticks - a type of commercial explosive and 07 detonators.

Navy nabs 05 persons for engaging in night diving in northern waters

The Navy apprehended 05 persons for engaging in night diving to harvest sea cucumber, during a special operation conducted off Kudairippu, Vettalakeni in Jaffna in the dark hours of 13th October 2022. Along with the suspects, 02 dinghies and about 10,000 illegally harvested sea cucumbers were also taken into naval custody.
