A search operation conducted by the Navy in the lagoon area of Serakkuliya, Kalpitiya on 12 Aug 25 led to the interception of 02 dinghies for smuggling approx. 1,180kg consignment of Kendu leaves and 20,000 foreign cigarettes. The operation also resulted in the apprehension of 02 suspects in connection to the illegal act.

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the beach vicinity between Kudiyiruppu and Pesalai, Talaimannar on 12 Aug 25 resulted in the seizure of about 110kg and 600g of Kerala cannabis.

A coordinated operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Kalpitiya Police in the Thigali area of Kalpitiya on the night of 11 Aug 25 led to the seizure of over 379kg of Kendu leaves, 6,000 foreign cigarettes, 281,200 medicinal capsules and 1,291 medicinal injections, suspected to have been smuggled into the country. The operation also resulted in the arrest of a suspect in connection to the incident .

In separate operations conducted by the Navy from 01 to 10 Aug 25, sixteen (16) individuals involved in various illegal fishing activities were apprehended along with 06 dinghies and a traditional boat (01) in multiple locations across the island.

Search operations conducted by the Navy in the Negombo, Puttalam and Kalpitiya areas from 01 to 10 Aug 25 led to the seizure of over 1590kg of smuggled Kendu leaves. The operations also resulted in the apprehension of 01 suspect and 02 dinghies in connection to the illegal acts.

A fire that broke out on a fishing trawler in the shipyard at the Galle Fisheries Harbour was swiftly brought under control on 10 Aug 25 with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy firefighters.

During an operation conducted on 09 Aug 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized an Indian fishing boat (01) and apprehended 07 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters, north of Mannar.

A coordinated search operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) near the Salgadu Stadium in Anuradhapura on 04 Aug 25 led to the arrest of 02 suspects in possession of approx. 29kg and 901g of Kerala cannabis. The operation also resulted in the seizure of a car used to smuggle narcotics.

During an operation conducted in the dark hours of 05 Aug 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized 01 Indian fishing boat and apprehended 10 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters, off the Baththalangunduwa Island in Kalpitiya

A search operation conducted by the Navy near the Aliyaveli lagoon of Kadeikadu, Jaffna on 04 Aug 25 resulted in the seizure of about 102kg and 350g (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis.
