The Navy took hold of 160,000 smuggled foreign cigarettes and 22,100 prescription tablets from a dinghy abandoned in the beach area of Ippanthivu, during a search carried out in the evening of 06 Mar 25.

In response to the flood situation in the Panama area caused by heavy rainfall, the Sri Lanka Navy has been promptly engaged in flood relief operations since 03 Mar 25. These efforts, carried out in collaboration with the Disaster Management Centre, the Army, and the Police, continue uninterrupted to assist affected residents.
