In separate search operations conducted in Alankuda sea area of Kalpitiya and Thoduwawa in Puttalam on 23 Apr 25, the Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 04 suspects along with smuggled spices, clothing, smartphones, electrical appliances and pet birds. The operations also resulted in the seizure of a dinghy and a cab in connection to these illegal acts.

The Sri Lanka Navy intercepted an abandoned dinghy loaded with a haul of smuggled agrochemicals, Kendu leaves and spices during a search operation off Negombo on 22 Apr 25. Among the recovered items were; 1156 bottles and 4224 packets of agrochemicals, 67kg and 800g of Kendu leaves and 75kg and 300g of cardamom.

A coordinated operation conducted by the Navy and Police in Lunugamwehera, Tissamaharama on the night of 20 Apr 25 led to the arrest of 02 suspects with about 01kg and 800g of local cannabis made ready to sell, and seizure of a motorbike.

Coordinated search operations conducted by the Navy, Police and Police Special Task Force (STF) on 21 Apr 25 in the Trincomalee Town and Cod Bay Fisheries Harbour led to the arrest of 02 suspects and seizure of 565 foreign cigarettes prepared for sale.
