During a search operation carried out in the early hours of 06 Oct 25, the Sri Lanka Navy apprehended a suspect along with a dinghy and a consignment of 56,870 prescription drugs (capsules and tablets), spices and cosmetics being smuggled, in the Keeri beach area, Mannar.

The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended a stock of smuggled items during a search operation conducted in the Pandaraveli coastal area of Silawathura on 18 Sep 25. The operation led to the seizure of approximately 1,197kg of Kendu leaves, 1,765 bars of soap, a dinghy, and the arrest of a suspect in connection with the incident.

In separate operations in the past two weeks, the Sri Lanka Navy apprehended seventy-eight (78) individuals engaged in illegal fishing activities across the island's waters from 01 to 15 September 2025.
