Sri Lanka Navy conducted a special operation to chase away Indian poaching trawlers from Sri Lanka’s waters on the evening of 16th November 2022. The operation has led to the seizure of an Indian trawler with 14 Indian fishermen poaching in the island's waters off Mamunei in Veththalakerni, Jaffna.

Sri Lanka Navy intercepted a dinghy which was carrying Kerala cannabis weighing over 41kg (in wet weight), during a special operation conducted in the sea area off the Kalmunai Point, Jaffna in the wee hours of today (14th November 2022). The operation also led to the apprehension of a suspect (01) in connection to the incident.

A special search operation carried out by the Navy in Duwa area, Negombo on 08^th November 2022 made way for the seizure of over 2448kg of smuggled Kendu Leaves, 02 lorries, 01 dinghy and apprehension of 02 suspects.

A coordinated operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard in the sea area southeast of the Delft Island, Jaffna in the wee hours of 09th November 2022, led to the seizure of Kerala cannabis weighing over 458kg (wet weight) from a dinghy.

Sri Lanka Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau recovered about 08kg 304g of heroin (including packages) worth around Rs. 166 million in gross street value, during a special operation mounted in Dias Watta area, Beruwala on the morning of 07^th November 2022. Meanwhile, the raiding party also apprehended a suspect in connection to the incident.

A special operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with the Police Special Task Force and Police Narcotic Bureau off the Great Basses Reef Lighthouse Hambantota, led to the interception of a local fishing trawler carrying over 331kg of heroin (Including packages), worth around Rs. 6622 – 13244 million in gross street value and apprehension of 06 suspects on 05th November 2022. The drug-carrying trawler and the suspects were brought to the Galle Harbour this morning (07th November). Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne also arrived at the Galle Harbour to inspect the consignment.

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a special operation in seas north of Talaimannar to chase away Indian poaching trawlers from Sri Lanka’s waters on the evening of 05th November 2022. The operation led to the seizure of 02 Indian trawlers with 15 Indian fishermen, poaching in the island's waters.

The Navy was pressed into action to clear woody debris clogged under Dodangoda, Agaliya and Wakwella bridges over the Gin Ganga in Baddegama area, from 25th to 28th October 2022.

Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Coast Guard conducted a special operation in northern waters to chase away Indian poaching trawlers from Sri Lanka’s waters on the night of 26^th October 2022. The operation led to the seizure of an Indian trawler with 07 Indian fishermen, poaching in island’s waters south of the Delft Island in Jaffna.

Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to restore the manual operation of a sluice gate of Kalugaloya Tank in Ampara on 20^th October 2022, as it was not in working order.
