The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Major General (Retd.) His Excellency Muhammad Saad Khattak paid an official visit to the Naval Headquarters in Colombo today (12^th March 2020).

Twenty (20) Indian fishermen who were apprehended by SL Navy on last 12th and 13th and another 8 Indian fishermen who were rescued by the Navy, have been handed over to the respective Regional offices of Fisheries Inspector and the Police stations.

A family get-together of naval personnel killed and wounded in action were held at SLNS Shilpa in Kandy on 05th December 2015. Approximately one thousand members belonging to 272 families residing in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Badulla and Kegalle districts attended the event held under the patronage of the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe.

Naval troops attached to SLNS Barana and Therapuththa of the North Western Naval Command on information received, recovered 94 kilograms of sea cucumber packed in 02 polysack bags at Karadakkuliya beach in Mullikulam on 25th July 2015.

Naval troops attached to the North Western Naval Command on information received, recovered 435 kilograms of sea cucumber packed in 09 polysack bags at Mullikulam in Mannar on 22nd July 2015.

Naval craft attached to SLNS Gotabhaya of the Eastern Naval Command in liaison with the district fishery officials in Mulativu arrested 14 persons with 06 Fiber Glass Dinghies (FGD) on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the seas of Kokkuthuduwai in Mulativu on 14th July 2015.

Naval craft of the North Central Naval Command which were on routine patrol arrested four Indian nationals with 165 kilograms of Cannabis (Kerala Ganja) in the seas north-west of the Thalai-mannar in the early hours of 14th July 2015.

Naval craft attached to the North Western Command on routine patrol arrested 08 fishermen with 01 FGD and 10 monofilament nets while engaged in illegal fishing in the Arippu sea area on 07th July 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba in Talaimannar of the North Central Naval Command arrested four Indian nationals with approximately 46 kilograms of Cannabis (Kerala Ganja) whilst transferring from India to Sri Lanka in the seas north west of Talaimannar in the early hours of 06th July 2015.
