Army Commander pays farewell courtesy call on Navy Commander

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, paid a farewell courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando at the Navy Headquarters today, 30 July 2026.

Upon arrival at the Navy Headquarters, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo was accorded a guard of honour in precision with time-honoured naval traditions.

During the ensuing cordial meeting, the Commander of the Navy acknowledged the outgoing Army Commander's distinguished military career, exemplary leadership and dedicated service to the nation and conveyed best wishes for his future endeavours.

The formal interaction drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes between the two service Commanders.
