Rear Admiral Sujeewa Weerasuriya assumes duties as Commander Southeastern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Sujeewa Weerasuriya formally assumed duties as the Commander Southeastern Naval Area today, 30 July 2026, at the Southeastern Command Headquarters.

In accordance with naval traditions, the newly appointed Area Commander was received at the Southeastern Naval Command. The rest of the proceedings included a formal handing over of duties and responsibilities from his predecessor, Rear Admiral Nimal Ranasinghe, to Rear Admiral Weerasuriya.
