Volunteer Naval Force annual training camp 2026 begins in Welisara
The annual training camp 2026 of Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) commenced, with 488 personnel taking part in the programme at the VNF Headquarters in Welisara.
The opening of the training camp was marked today, 31 August, under the patronage of the Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Commodore Aruna Wijewardana, at the invitation of the Commanding Officer Volunteer Naval Force, Captain Anura Karunaratne.
This programme is held to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of officers and sailors serving in the Volunteer Naval Force. This year's programme includes 39 officers and 449 senior and junior sailors.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Commanding Officer SLNS Lanka, Commander Delanka Chandrasena, along with officers from the VNF Headquarters and SLNS Lanka. Officers and sailors participating in the annual training camp also attended the event.
