400 thalassemia infusion systems made by Navy handed over to Ministry of Health

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne symbolically handed over 400 thalassemia infusion systems to the Deputy Director General (Non-Communicable Diseases) of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Champika Wickramasinghe at the Navy Headquarters on 19th October 2022. The infusion systems were produced by the Research and Development Unit of the Navy, under Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives.

The inauguration ceremony of the College of Military Engineering and Technology Sri Lanka (CMETSL) was held on 13th October 2022 at Eagle’s Lake Side, Aththidiya. The ceremony which was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the invitation of the first President of CMETSL and Director General Engineering of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe.

Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 arrives at Port of Manila on her way home

The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 of Sri Lanka Navy, which set sail for her home bound journey from Seattle, United States on 03rd September 2022, called at the Port of Manila in the Philippines on 12th October 2022. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Philippines, Mrs Shobini Gunasekera was also present on this occasion to welcome the ship.
