Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne declared open navy-improved facilities at Athbatuwa Junior School in Hungama and Veeriyagama Maha Vidyalaya in Sooriyawewa in the Hambantota district today (29th November 2021). The occasions of bestowing these new facilities upon children of respective schools were also attended by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne.

Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake conducted a guest lecture to the officers of course no. 1 of the National Defence College (NDC), Colombo on 25th November 2021.

Sri Lanka Navy made arrangements to provide safe passenger transport service at the Kurinchankerny bridge commencing from 25th November 2021. The residents in the area will be able to use this mode of transportation until the construction of the Kurinchankerny Bridge in Kinniya, Trincomalee is completed.

To coincide with the series of religious events held in view of the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, the Navy Christian Council organized a Christian Commemoration & Thanksgiving Service at St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo on 23rd November 2021. The Defence, Air and Naval Attaché of Embassy of Ukraine in New Delhi and accredited to Sri Lanka, Colonel Volodymyr Bakai called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (16th November 2021).

The main event to commemorate war veterans who paid the supreme sacrifice for the freedom of Motherland, at 'Armed Forces Remembrance Day Commemoration Ceremony', was held at the Cenotaph War Memorial of the Viharamahadevi Park today (14th November 2021). The dignified ceremony presided over by Defence Secretary, General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne was attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
