During two separate operations in the Negombo Lagoon and Karukapane Lagoon in Chilaw on 09 and 10 Nov 25, the Navy seized about 742kg of Kendu leaves along with 03 dinghies.

During an operation conducted on the night of 09 Nov 25, the Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard seized an Indian fishing boat (01) and apprehended 14 Indian fishermen, while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Analativu Island, Jaffna.

The Sri Lanka Navy seized a consignment of approximately 1211kg of Kendu leaves, a dinghy, and apprehended 03 suspects during a search operation conducted in the Olaithoduwai beach area, Mannar on 08 Nov 25.

In a decisive blow to maritime trafficking, the Sri Lanka Navy seized a major shipment of smuggled items, a dingy and apprehended 04 suspects during a special search operation conducted in the Ippantivu and Karuwalakuda areas in Kalpitiya on 06 Nov 25.

During a search operation conducted in the Uchchamunai Lagoon, Kalpitiya on 04 Nov 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized 02 dinghies with about 38kg of cannabis.

During operations conducted on 02 and wee hours of 03 Nov 25, the Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard seized 04 Indian fishing boats and apprehended 35 Indian fishermen, while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Veththalakerni and the Analativu Island, Jaffna.

A search operation mounted by the Navy and Police in Point Pedro on 01 Nov 25 led to the arrest of 04 suspects, including a woman, along with approx. 105kg of cannabis and 02 dinghies.

The Sri Lanka Navy mounted a special operation on the high seas west of Sri Lanka, the Navy apprehended six (06) suspects along with a local multi-day fishing trawler believed to be involved in smuggling of narcotic substances. The narcotic-laden trawler and the suspects were brought to the Dikovita Fisheries Harbour this morning (02 Nov 25).

During a search operation conducted in the Delft sea area, Jaffna, on the night of 30 Oct 25, the Sri Lanka Navy seized a dinghy carrying approximately 185kg and 600g of cannabis. Two (02) suspects along with the dinghy were also taken into custody during the operation.

The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo coordinated the rescue of 04 fishermen from the multiday fishing trawler ‘Keshan Putha I’ in distress approximately 354 nautical miles (about 655km) off the coast of Hambantota. The rescued fishermen were safely brought to the Port of Hambantota this morning (31 Oct 25) by SLNS Sindurala and subsequently rushed to Hambantota General Hospital for medical attention with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Police.
