Suspect arrested with illegal stockpile of liquor in Mullaitivu

During a coordinated operation, the Navy along with the Police Special Task Force (STF), arrested a suspect (1) and seized 5,575 bottles of illegally stored liquor in Puthukkudiyiruppu, Mullaitivu, on 14 July 2026.

Upon receipt of credible information, the raid was launched by personnel from SLNS Gotabaya, in coordination with the Mullaitivu Police Special Task Force.

The suspect was identified as a 43-year-old resident of Mullaitivu. Both the suspect and the seized liquor were handed over to the Mullaitivu Excise Department for further legal proceedings.
