Navy leads mangrove planting drive pledging support to Clean Sri Lanka programme
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, reviewed several upgraded welfare facilities at SLN Dockyard, Trincomalee, during his recent visit to the Eastern Naval Command.
During the review, the Navy Chief visited the newly established ND Art Corner, the expanded ND Café, Juice Bar, and the Dockyard Laundry, all of which have been developed to improve the quality of life of naval personnel serving at SLN Dockyard.
The improvements were carried out under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLN Dockyard, Captain Saman Rathnayake, who played a key role in upgrading these facilities for the benefit of the dockyard's naval personnel.
Commending the initiative, Vice Admiral Fernando appreciated the efforts made to strengthen the welfare of service personnel. He underscored the importance of providing quality welfare facilities, noting that such initiatives contribute significantly to the physical and mental well-being of naval personnel.
The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya, along with a group of officers and sailors, was also present during the visit.
