Navy tests readiness with International Ship and Port Facility Security drill in Kankesanthurai

The Navy conducted a safety drill on 09 Jun 26 at the Kankesanthurai (KKS) Port premises, in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

During the drill, various safety threat scenarios were simulated within the port facility to assess the effectiveness of stakeholders in responding and managing emergency incidents.

The exercise was led by the Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit, the Kennel Unit, and the Bomb Disposal Unit. It also saw participation from the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), the Police, Sri Lanka Customs and the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
