Maldivian High Commissioner meets with Commander of the Navy
The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Sri Lanka, H.E. Masood Imad, met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando at Navy Headquarters today, 8 September 2026.
During the meeting, the visiting High Commissioner conveyed best wishes to Vice Admiral Fernando on his appointment as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. Their discussions centred on bilateral matters, with a shared focus on enhancing maritime security cooperation between the two countries.
Defence Adviser at the Maldivian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Colonel Hassan Amir, was also present during the meeting. The official interaction concluded with an exchange of mementos to mark the significance of the occasion.
